Digital Screen Replacement
A recent replacement of two digital screens at Port Kennedy Central shopping centre showed how simple a screen upgrade can be. Technology is not infinite. As we know with our hand held devices, there comes a time when an upgrade is inevitable. This was the case for this 2 sided pylon digital screen replacement.
The Yap!digital team approached this project with our trademark professionalism. The existing 2 screens, at a size of 3m x 4m, where carefully disassembled and replaced with P5 modern screens ideal for the viewing distance and viewing angles at the entrance to the shopping centre.
Third Time Around!
This is the third time the pylon structure has been modified. The initial pylon framework was built around 1975 and clad with simple panels. In 2016 it was revamped with digital technology to allow for dynamic content and messaging. See our original digital retrofit works on this project at our Case Study here.
One area for consideration involved our planning was the potential for vandalism. Adding the rows of screens above reach of passers-by was designed to prevent screen damage.
As with many jobs, looking at the finished result you would never believe the “technical and engineering magic’ that goes on behind the scenes to ensure a quality finished result.
