Jumbotrons are Coming to Town!
What is Jumbotron I hear you ask? Well, as the name suggests, this is a massive, oversize, elephantus-sized screen designed to fill a space in gargantuan proportions.
Probably you are used to seeing them in stadiums or at the game – the Perth Wildcats basketball game for example. And although originally Jumbotrons were used solely to show game scores at stadiums using numerical displays, this has now evolved into instant sports replays allowing and adoring fan spectacles.
With social media and roaming cameras this live content offers a real time glimpse into spectators with ‘fan-cams’.
The other application is retail.
Modern shopping centres are not using large scale digital screens as features.

Retail Jumbotrons Head West
When it comes to jumbo-sized signage, there’s a new kid on the block popping up in trendy new retail outlets in WA. Jumbotrons – aka large television screens – are the brain child of Lymlive Media. Here in the West, they are definitely the new signage on the block giving a fresh, modern perspective to the instore shopping experience.
In 2021 Lymlive Media commissioned the Yap!digital team to install 3 Jumbotrons at Perth’s three leading shopping centres:-
- Stateside sports – Jumbotron digital install – Carousel Shopping Centre;
- Stateside Sports – Lendlease – Lakeside Joondalup Shopping Centre;
- Stateside Sports – Jumbotron digital install– Karrinyup Shopping Centre.
