FRINGE ADDS CULTURAL DIMENSION TO CBD DIGITAL SIGNAGE

FRINGE ADDS CULTURAL DIMENSION TO CBD DIGITAL SIGNAGE

This year’s Fringe Festival in Perth has seen the marrying of old school signage, with higher tech digital signage, all within the cultural context of the City.

Walking through Northbridge during the day I marveled at the old buildings running alongside large modern digital displays promoting Museum art events. The night time gave a different perspective on how neon, LED and vibrant signage can create a highly dynamic, exciting environment with the chaos and culture of Fringe happening at every turn.

It made me thing what events like the Perth Fringe Festival would be like without signage… the Fringe seemed to be living proof that static and digital signage can really make an event stand out.  What do you think?

There’s no doubt that attendees would be lost, confused, and frustrated without good signage.  But these days digital signage is the way of the future. Digital signage is a versatile system that supports multiple media types and rapidly distributes information throughout the venue. Your key messages can be displayed, along with strategically curated messaging.  Let’s face it, signs now have the ability to illustrate much more than directions.

Digital signage equals to more sponsorships. Attendees will seek out signage whenever they need something. As a result, they will focus their attention on signage for at least part of their show experience. Strategically placed sponsorships on digital signage will increase visibility for your sponsors. Because it’s digital and can be changed, each sign can accommodate multiple sponsor. This is great for revenues in what are usually cash-poor fringe events. Additionally, sponsors can choose to display their content in a variety of different mediums. Sponsors will also be able to change what content appears on screen at different points of your event.

You can also use digital signage or backdrops to create the perfect photo opportunity. Visitors will be snapping photos in front of your signage to remind them of brand, message or creative behind the event. You can use digital signage to engage audiences ie. grab a selfie in front of their favourite act or backdrop.
